Remember that weird kid in your classroom at school? You know, the guy that looked a little different than everybody else, smelled funny and did freaky things to get attention? I introduce to you Jackie A. Somnamblitsky. He's just your average "weird kid" except for the fact that he is undead, has green skin, never sleeps, builds monsters for a hobby, and has a very large stone maze inserted into his skull!

has it that he lives in spooky Stein Castle and that he may even be the son of the notorious -- maker of monsters! The truth is that Doctor Stein does run a very lucrative "Monsters Made to Order" business from his residence. His business was so successful as a matter of fact -- a lot of orders for domestic servants -- that one day he realized he needed an heir to carry on his work. So he set to work on his most precious of creations- little Jackie. He built him from the body of a recently deceased 7 year old T.V. junkie who had an unfortunate accident while trying to imitate his favorite cartoon character. When the traditional Frankenstein method of applying electricity didn't pan out -- it was a bright, sunny day with no lightning -- Doc Stein tried his faithful servant's extra strong, extra black Java. He filled the kids veins and arteries with the liquid and Jackie was born! The poor kid had to deal with one side effect --

Papa Stein trained his new son well in the Art of Monster Making. In no time he became just as prolific a monster builder as his Pop. His first successful creation was a squishy, yellow, one-eyed pyramid creature known as . Paul became Jackie's faithful companion and often the voice of reason through Jackie's various trials and tribulations. He kept him company at night when Jackie was keeping his fathers business running while every one slept, because of course... little Jackie doesn't sleep!

(being that he is a kid, even if he is a Zombie) grew tired of all the serious monster making business and decided to have a little fun with his creature building know how. Unbeknownst to Dr. Stein, he spent his sleepless nights and days building his own monsters designed purely for his own amusement. He then built an entire world to house these silly, misshapen creatures in the basement of the castle. This became Jackie's secret playland that he keeps hidden from Dr. Stein and the Monster Lab.

Jackie's secret play world is like one big surreal, cartoon both whimsical and frightening at the same time. It's about what you would expect out of the brain of an undead 7-year-old saturated in cartoons, no sleep and a 200 I.Q. Here Jackie is the supreme ruler and Proprietor of the world he dubs

He is then left lacking one major component -- a playmate!

Jackie convinces Dr. Stein to let him enlist at Sleepy Town Elementary. Needless to say, Jackie (a.k.a. Jack the Inzomniac) is a little unpopular at school. As a result, in order to have playmates, he must capture them against their will. He plots to lure them up to Stein Castle into his newly built special playland in the basement.
